The computer skills curriculum at YNJ prepares students to use computer technology for schoolwork and personal use, for accessing and applying information, for problem solving, and for communicating ideas and data. The objectives in the computer program form a curriculum which establishes technology skills for students to use in other curriculum areas. These objectives include the knowledge and skills to achieve computer literacy. Information accessing, analyzing, interpreting, applying and communication skills allow the students to become independent software users and researchers.

Computer lessons are thus designed to strengthen math, science, social studies and language arts skills appropriate to the classroom curriculum. Students are also provided with carefully supervised access to the internet so they may complete research for their classroom assignments.
