The math curriculum is designed to achieve the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics' Standards. Emphasis is placed on problem solving and relating mathematics to the children's daily lives. Students are encouraged to use logic and higher level thinking skills while they engage in mathematical conjecture and discussions. In the school's departmental upper grades, multiple level math classes address the specific level of each student. Many pupils complete a course in Algebra I in the eighth grade.  See also, Programs for the Gifted - Daily Math Lab
