SCRIP RULES, INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION
FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2008-2009
MANDATORY SCRIP PROGRAM:
$375.00 or purchasing a minimum of $7,500 of
supermarket/department store SCRIP --
SCRIP form
WHAT IS SCRIP? It is the no cost way to eliminate your $375.00 obligation. All Scrips are official gift cards from the stores.
You get dollar for dollar and there are no expiration dates, or service fees attached.
ADVICE: Always hand in one card at a time. Bend the card that you are sure has NO BALANCE LEFT ON IT and then throw it out.
Magnets are sensitive. Keep the card away from all electronic equipment. If you doubt that a card is used up-DO NOT THROW IT OUT.
Call Marsha at YNJ and the activity on the card can be traced.
GLATT EXPRESS: Glatt Express uses a reloadable card. If you do not have one or have misplaced yours, please call Marsha for a new card. All monies on the card can be transferred to your new card. Never throw out the Glatt Express Advantage Card, please.
- Supermarket Scrip can be purchased on a daily basis, in person, from either of the secretaries in the pre-school office. All Scrip can be purchased on Tuesday & Friday from Marsha, the Scrip Chairwoman.
- The easiest way to get Scrip is through your children in school. Instruct your child to put the Scrip in a secure place in his or her knapsack or folder. Please understand that once your child receives the Scrip he/she is fully responsible for it. The Scrip is ALWAYS given to the child directly. (Except in the pre-school where the teacher tapes it or places it in the knapsack at the end of the day.) The Yeshiva will not replace any lost Scrip.
- A check for Scrip can be sent in any day of the week. Instruct your child to hand in the envelope in the morning to the secretaries or place in the gold envelope marked SCRIP on a desk in the front of the main office. Scrip orders will be filled within twenty-four hours. If you send a Scrip order to school, make sure to check with the child that evening if they gave it in and if they received a gold envelope in return.
- Scrip envelopes are bright GOLD-for easy recognition in your child's bag.
- Scrip is sent home with the oldest child in school unless otherwise designated.
- Once purchased, Scrip cannot be exchanged or returned. There is a $20.00 fee on bounced checks.
- If you feel pressured by the Scrip amount ($7,500)-don't be. At the end of the year your purchases are totaled and you are only charged the remaining pro-rated balance.
- Even though the Scrip Program is officially a ten-month program (since it is part of your tuition package) we do credit any Scrip purchased during the summer months to the upcoming year for those who need or want a head start on their Scrip purchasing.
- Remember, the Scrip program is a major fund-raiser for the Yeshiva. It doesnt cost you anything to participate and the school makes a profit each time you buy Scrip. Please continue to purchase SCRIP even after you have reached the obligatory amount.
- Checks made out to the Scrip program either for Scrip or to pay the obligation are NOT tax deductible.
- Scrip can be sold to relatives, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors and will then be credited to your account.
- Marsha, the Scrip Chairwoman, is available AT the Yeshiva on Tuesdays and Fridays for updates and answering questions. All Orders are filled (including Glatt Express) by Marsha on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Friday.
- Official updates will be mailed periodically. At anytime that you would like an update please leave a message at Ext. 304 and Marsha will call you back with the information.
- The Scrip obligation (like all other financial obligations to YNJ) for all those who have children GRADUATING is due by May 1. For all other families that deadline is June 1.
- Dont forgot that Dr. Saul Lejtman (dentist), Maadan Catering in Teaneck and EJ Auto Leasing in Monsey,
Poppys Bagels, Bunny Hain Jewelry and
EverythingShabbos.com give 5% towards your Scrip account when you use them. For details please speak to Marsha at Ext. 304.
