In each class students are challenged with activities that develop their higher level thinking skills. Special projects stressing creativity, innovation and research capture the curiosity of students gifted in science, social studies and literature.

DAILY MATH LAB
The Yeshiva has designed a program to meet the unique needs of students who have scored in the top two percentile on national achievement tests and have a demonstrated a depth of mathematical thinking. Groups of four to eight students meet daily in the math lab to receive instruction. Classes are taught at an accelerated pace with an emphasis on discovery of mathematical relationships and patterns. All enrichment classes share a high level of excitement as small groups of children investigate, experiment, probe and scrutinize mathematical operations. Going beyond the performance of complex computations, the students always seek to know why and how the mathematical operations work.

Talented students are given further opportunities to enjoy their mathematical interests as they participate in YNJ's math teams. A number of YNJ's teams have finished first place in leagues composed of other Metropolitan Area teams under the direction of the Board of Jewish Education. Other YNJ students have placed near the top in New Jersey State public and private school competitions.

TALMUDIC ENRICHMENT
Junior High School students who demonstrate a talent for Gemara receive special time with an "enrichment " rebbe. During this period of time, the students explore Talmudic concepts in greater depth and learn additional materials beyond the classroom curriculum.
