The study of Mishna is heavily emphasized in the Torah study classes. Mishnayos quickly gain an important role in the curriculum and maintain their centricity until graduation. Mastery of Mishnayos provides the students with a broad range of concepts, terminology, and basic facts that are essential for a knowledgeable Jew.

This study also facilitates the development of Gemara skills among the b'nai hayeshiva, who are prepared to enter outstanding high school programs. YNJ's most advanced Gemara class annually learns many dapim with the commentary of Rashi and insights from the Ba'alei HaTosafos.

The students' range of knowledge of Torah concepts is further broadened by the Yeshiva's Chumash bekiyus curriculum. Each year our Junior High Students review their mastery of a sefer of Chumash and demonstrate their accomplishments in a school wide bekiyus contest.
