A
strong program of Chumash study commences in the first grade and
increases in intensity through the curriculum so that the students
develop an excellent ability to translate from Biblical Hebrew to
spoken Hebrew and English.
These
abilities are enhanced through a study of grammar and further strengthened
with a study of Tanach and the commentaries of Rashi,
Ramban, Radak,
and others. Goal accomplishment in all subjects, including Rashi,
Mishna, Gemara, and Navi, is measured by the students' ability to
comprehend the original text.
